The following from Keith McBurney in the fall of 2002:

May lived in her Hartney home until 1995, the year of her 100th birthd ay. Her family all attended a birthday party in her honour in July o f that year. Later that year she fell in her home and spent some tim e in the hospital and then the decision was made that she be moved t o the personal care unit in Souris. She was not really very happy wit h her new surroundings, but as with all events in her life she adjuste d and was eventually very happy there. She still managed to crochet an d keep in contact with all the family and friends. She fell ill in Jun e 1999 and died in hospital in July 16th 1999.

May was an excellent quilter, having small, even stitching. She made n umerous quilts within the group. These were auctioned to raise money f or the church community.

She also made quilts for many members of her family. Eileen had a mauv e Lady with an Umbrella pattern, Heather a Fan pattern, Kim a Leaf pat tern.
