Charles Elmer Manning
The death occurred in a Saskatoon hospital on September 5th of Charles Elmer Manning, a pioneer resident of the Stranraer distri ct.
Mr. Manning was born at Cartwright, Man., on November 6th, 1884. He came west to a homestead in the Stranraer district in 1 906 and has resided there since that time. In 1909 he married Emily N oble of Stranraer.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, and eleven children, Cliff of Livel ong, Mrs. G. Waldron (Emily) Haney B.C., Mrs. E. McCallum, (Bertha) Ca lgary, Mrs. W. MacPherson (Mary) Wainwright, Mrs. W. Smith (Laurena) E dmonton, Mrs. A. Westoff (Pearl) Ottawa, Mrs. G. Douglas (Daisy) Aklav ik, Norman, Trail, John, Edmonton, Mrs. R. Marten (Elva) Saskatoon an d Donald, Dauphin. There are 16 grandchildren and 1 great granddaught er; also three sisters. He was predeceased by two sons, Lenard and Au stin.
Funeral service was held from the chapel of McKagues Funeral Home , Saskatoon, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. L.R. Agne w officiating. The congregation joined in singing the hymns, "Neare r my God to Thee" and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee". Mrs. J.S. Clayto n sang "The Lord is My Shepherd."
Internment followed in Woodlawn Cemeter, with the following actin g as pallbearers, Cliff Smith, Jack Downie, Ernie Dippie, Fred Thomas , Irwin Miller and Tom Little. - article dated 1957."
