Martha C. Johnston, beloved wife of W.R. Johnston, CNR conductor, Jasp er Alberta, passed away in an Edmonton hospital Monday March 18th 1929 , aged 57 years. Deceased had resided in Lucerne BC and Jasper for th e past 8 years and besides her many friends, leaves to mourn her husba nd, one daughter and three sons; Mrs Mae Morrow, Wilbert, Everett an d Clifford, all of Jasper. The funeral service will be held on Wednesd ay afternoon at 2:30 from Howard & McBride's private chapel. Rev. Dr . F. Farrell will officiate and interment will take place in the Edmon ton Cemetery.

The funeral service of Martha C. Johnston, beloved wife of W.R. Johnst on, Jasper Alberta, who passed away March 18th was held on Wednesday a fternoon at 2:30 from Howard & McBride's private chapel. Rev. Dr. Farr ell officiated and interment took place in the Edmonton Cemetery. Beau tiful floral tributes were received from the family, W.F. Gold, J.W. M orris & family, Alta & Alice, Chappy & Mrs Griffith, Wilbert & Lucy, B uddy, E. Maloney, H. hayes, W. Wilson, P. Quaale, R. Blewitt, Jasper P ark Lodge #143 A.F.&A.M., Jasper Hockey Club, Ladies Aid United Church , Elks Lodge Jasper, O.O.R.P. Jasper, Car Department Jasper, Order o f Railway Conductors, B of RT #727. Deceased leaves to mourn her los s her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Mae Morrow, and three sons, Wilbert , Everett and Clifford Johnston, all of Jasper.

It was a shock to the people of Jasper when the news came from Edmonto n late on Monday of the death of Mrs W.R. Johnston, as few knew of he r serious illness. Mrs Johnston was taken ill the first of last week a nd serious developments necessitated her removal to the hospital in Ed monton on Wednesday. The funeral services were held in Edmonton on Wed nesday of this week.
