Martha C. Johnston, beloved wife of W.R. Johnston, CNR conductor, Jasper Alberta, passed away in an Edmonton hospital Monday March 18th 1929, aged 57 years. Deceased had resided in Lucerne BC and Jasper for the past 8 years and besides her many friends, leaves to mourn her husband, one daughter and three sons; Mrs Mae Morrow, Wilbert, Everett and Clifford, all of Jasper. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from Howard & McBride's private chapel. Rev. Dr. F. Farrell will officiate and interment will take place in the Edmonton Cemetery.

The funeral service of Martha C. Johnston, beloved wife of W.R. Johnston, Jasper Alberta, who passed away March 18th was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from Howard & McBride's private chapel. Rev. Dr. Farrell officiated and interment took place in the Edmonton Cemetery. Beautiful floral tributes were received from the family, W.F. Gold, J.W. Morris & family, Alta & Alice, Chappy & Mrs Griffith, Wilbert & Lucy, Buddy, E. Maloney, H. hayes, W. Wilson, P. Quaale, R. Blewitt, Jasper Park Lodge #143 A.F.&A.M., Jasper Hockey Club, Ladies Aid United Church, Elks Lodge Jasper, O.O.R.P. Jasper, Car Department Jasper, Order of Railway Conductors, B of RT #727. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Mae Morrow, and three sons, Wilbert, Everett and Clifford Johnston, all of Jasper.

It was a shock to the people of Jasper when the news came from Edmonton late on Monday of the death of Mrs W.R. Johnston, as few knew of her serious illness. Mrs Johnston was taken ill the first of last week and serious developments necessitated her removal to the hospital in Edmonton on Wednesday. The funeral services were held in Edmonton on Wednesday of this week.
