Stewart went west as a child. He farmed the NE 1/2 17-3-7 at Darlingford until 1962 when Leonard took over the farm and Stewart & Veda retired to Darlingford. Stewart is a lover of horses and used horse power for farming longer than many others. For thirty years Stewart was King Billie on July 12th for his lodge. In that period he used on three horses. The lodge presented him with a plaque for his services. In 1973 Stewart & Veda sold their home and moved to High River, Alta., to be near their family.
