Family History. 1819 Willie & Mary farmed in Fitzroy Twp. until they moved west in 1907. O ne story states that when Willie Lowry and family arrived in Manitou a t Ossie & Seddie Moorhead's on May 5, 1907 there was 5 feet of snow ev erywhere. Willie settled at Roseile. They were accompanied by Grandm other Lowry and she and Luella missed the train just by a moment in Wi nnipeg. Grandma said to the man at the gate "Can't you stop the train ." He answered "Madam, they wouldn't stop for the Lord Himself." Inc luded in Willie's settler's equipment was half a car of horses. He bo ught first the E1/2 Section 5-6-7 and later W1/2 as well. He sold t o the Hutterites and retired to Roseile.
